Who are we?

Youth ClimActors is a project designed to strengthen youth engagement in addressing climate change, with a strong focus on inclusivity and ambition. Recognizing that young people, aged 18 to 30, are particularly vulnerable to the long-term effects of climate change, the project aims to empower them to play a central role in shaping climate action and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.

At its core, Youth ClimActors highlights that youth participation is not just important but a human right. It is essential for ensuring climate justice and promoting the well-being of young people. The project emphasizes the need to address systemic issues such as structural inequality and systemic discrimination, creating opportunities for meaningful involvement in climate governance. To achieve this, the project is structured around a series of Youth Participation Events and a Youth Participation Mobility program in Thessaloniki, Greece. These initiatives are particularly aimed at marginalized youth, including those from rural areas or migrant backgrounds, offering them the chance to take part in action-oriented initiatives and policy discussions on climate justice.

The project’s objectives include increasing youth involvement in democratic processes, fostering critical thinking and participatory skills, and creating opportunities for youth-led actions across Europe. Additionally, it aims to build a sense of European identity while enhancing cooperation between youth organizations and policymakers, ensuring that the voices of young people are heard in the formulation of policies related to climate justice.

Through the themes of Engage, Connect, and Empower, Youth ClimActors seeks to ensure that young people, especially those who are often marginalized, can actively participate in shaping a more just and sustainable future. The project encourages collaboration across sectors, aiming to build stronger links between youth, civic organizations, and public authorities to drive impactful climate action.
